How to raise your LoL vision score — winning without anyone noticing
Updated: August 11, 2026
Wards placed and cleared, getting value from control wards, which part of the map each role owns, and why vision matters even more in in-houses.
What actually raises the number
Vision score counts the time your wards gave your team sight, plus the time you took away by clearing enemy wards. Removing vision is worth as much as placing it.
That's what makes control wards doubly useful — they grant sight and deny it at the same time. The most common waste in any game is walking around with an unused control ward and dying with it.
Who owns which part of the map
- Support — river and around objectives. Set up 30 seconds before the next one spawns.
- Jungle — ahead of your own pathing. Before entering the enemy side, light the way out.
- Top — the brush behind your lane. It's about dodging ganks, so it directly changes your survival.
- Mid — both rivers. That's the information that decides whether roaming is worth it.
- ADC — entrances before late-game fights. Step forward without vision and you get picked.
Why it matters more in in-houses
In-houses are usually played between people of similar level, and that's exactly when information decides games. Starting a fight in a good spot is easier than winning a bad one.
Vision is also invisible work. Kills get noticed; wards don't. Recording it puts that contribution on the board where people can see it.
Checking it in your records
ONNJ tracks average vision score per game alongside ward activity per minute. A high vision score on a non-support role marks someone who is quietly making the whole team's games easier.
